Oversee the technical performance, maintenance, and operational readiness of assigned tanker vessels.
Ensure compliance with international regulations, Class and Flag requirements, and company safety standards.
Prepare and guide vessels for SIRE inspections and Oil Major vetting inspections.
Monitor vessel performance, planned maintenance system (PMS), and resolve technical issues with ship staff and service providers.
Conduct vessel inspections and internal audits (ISM, ISPS, MLC, cargo and safety operations).
Investigate incidents, near misses, and non-conformities, and implement corrective actions.
Plan and supervise repairs, dry dockings, and maintenance activities within budget.
Ensure vessels maintain valid certification and statutory documentation.
Monitor environmental compliance and reporting requirements including SEEMP, IMO DCS, and EEXI.
Class 1 Chief Engineer COC preferred (minimum Class 2 COC considered).
Sailing experience as Chief Engineer or Senior Engineer on tanker vessels.
Prior Technical Superintendent experience preferred, though strong sailing engineers may be considered.
Familiarity with tanker vetting processes (SIRE / OCIMF) and maritime regulations.
