Key Responsibilities
To oversee the technical management of assigned bulk carrier vessels to ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective operation in compliance with company policies, classification requirements, statutory regulations, and the Company's Safety Management System.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
ü Monitor the technical performance and condition of assigned vessels.
ü Ensure proper implementation of the Planned Maintenance System (PMS).
ü Provide technical guidance and support to vessel Chief Engineers and onboard technical teams.
ü Ensure machinery, equipment, and systems are maintained to company and industry standards.
ü Ensure vessels comply with class requirements, statutory regulations, and international conventions including SOLAS, MARPOL, and Flag State requirements.
ü Coordinate class surveys, statutory inspections, and dry dockings.
ü Monitor validity of vessel certificates and ensure timely renewals.
ü Plan and supervise dry dockings, repairs, and technical upgrades.
ü Coordinate repair works, contractors, and service providers.
ü Monitor project progress, quality of work, and adherence to schedule.
ü Prepare and manage vessel technical budgets and repair estimates.
ü Monitor technical expenditures and ensure cost control within approved budgets.
ü Review and approve technical requisitions and purchase requests.
ü Support the implementation of the Company's Safety Management System.
ü Participate in technical incident investigations and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
ü Monitor technical defects, failures, and preventive actions to improve reliability.
ü Prepare vessel for PSC and RIGHTSHIP inspection
Candidate Profile
ü Qualified Engineer with minimum 24 months experience as Chief Engineer
ü At least 1 year of experience as a Technical Superintendent handling bulker with a reputable shipping company
ü Strong understanding operations and regulatory compliance
