Job Description

Functional (job responsibilities)

Specific responsibilities include:

Execute a mobile first strategy

Review the digital capabilities across each of the business domains and work with the respective business leads to identify and implement new capabilities or enhancements to the existing capabilities which will support the business strategies. Work with business leads in the prioritization of the business projects. Keep abreast of new advancements in the technology industry and propose or identify opportunities to implement these technologies where it can drive business efficiency or enhance business strategies.

Enable Agile practices and support the adoption of agile approaches to work

Implement the use of Agile practices to simplify implementation processes while establishing a strong cadence of engagement across the different teams and businesses.

Drive and implement digital projects from a Singapore perspective

Ensure that requirements and specifications are fit for purpose from a Singapore perspective and aligns with the overall trends in the within industry within Singapore. Look for opportunities which would differentiate HLBS in the use digital and AI capabilities or ensure that HLBS remains competitive

Deliver resilient and stable solutions

Maintain a high level of IT service quality for both internal & external customers and drive the IT units towards meeting the agreed business SLAs. Establish and maintain the IT processes and controls to ensure enterprise information assets are adequately protected Identify, develop, implement and maintain processes across the Sg Branch to reduce information and information technology risks, and respond timely to events and incidents

Managerial (team/group responsibilities)

  • To provide leadership in delivery of IT services to support the implementation of business plans in terms of infrastructure and application stability and security, cost efficiency, and customer centricity.

  • To be abreast of all current and new internal policies / procedures and regulatory requirements, and ensure all work deliverables comply with these requirements.

  • To perform supervisory duties including management, coaching and giving performance evaluation and career development of all direct reports.

  • To create a conducive and quality work life environment for all employees.

  • To coordinate within business and technology units to ensure proper staff coverage of key functions in the implementation of the digital and AI initiatives.

Organizational (organizational responsibilities)

  • Collaborate with various Business Units to ensure that the overall IT plans support growth ambitions and customer experience journeys.

  • Collaborate with offshore technology units including both IT operations and application development.

  • Evaluate new Technologies for innovation and improvement of Digital and AI capabilities. Keep abreast of evolving trends through more feedback sessions with our vendors and suppliers.

  • To ensure active management of the approved annual operating budget, support and drive digital and cost saving initiatives related to his area.
