KEY ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Discipline Manager, you are accountable for:
Contribute and support the Engineering Manager in building a clear vision and direction for Engineering initiatives and communicate to the team
Contribute to the Systems, Infrastructure and Speciality Engineering Discipline Governance
Define and tailor discipline practices (process and tools)
Ensure the capitalization and sharing of knowledge
Contribute to the discipline efficiency plan to increase business competitiveness
Promote adoption of new technologies
Be responsible for the engineering discipline cost model definition and updates
Assess skills required for current and future projects needs including future discipline trends
Development/upskilling of the team and career management
Conduct strategic workforce planning including the provision of resources to fulfil current and future bid and project needs
Roll-out Make Team Buy strategy for the forecasted workload (incoming activities)
Define and Manage Hiring strategy and recruitment, onboarding
Foster collaboration with other disciplines to define multi-discipline solutions with added value
Foster an innovation and entrepreneurship culture
KEY KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
To be successful in your role, you will have demonstrated and/or acquired the following knowledge and experience:
Qualifications
Degree in Engineering, IT or related discipline
Postgraduate studies in Systems Engineering (Desirable)
Essential Experience
Proven experience in Systems Engineering lifecycle management (10+ years) including Requirements, Design, Integration and Verification and Validation
Proven experience in the development of products and projects in a variety of methodologies, with a particular focus on iterative/agile development
Proven experience (5+ years) in managing and coaching staff
Demonstrated ability to achieve effective outcomes in a multidiscipline, multi-culture environment
Experience with Safety, Security and Human Factors standards and practices
Experience with Infrastructure design processes
Experience with Network design and deployment processes
Ability to develop and promote high performing teams
Develop and foster a culture of continuous improvement
Coaching and sharing of his/her know-how
Ability to engage senior stakeholders having different objectives
Accountability, transparency and curiosity
A positive attitude combined with excellent interpersonal and motivational skills.
An ability to successfully manage change
Comfort in facing and managing complexity
Sound judgement and independent decision-making capability where necessary
Desirable:
Good knowledge of Air Traffic Management systems
