WHAT TO EXPECT
The Team Lead, Compliance is responsible for leading the post-transaction Balanced Scorecard (BSC) audit function to ensure timely and accurate completion of reviews in accordance with MAS regulatory requirements.
This role oversees a team of sales auditors, ensures high-quality assessment of financial advisory practices, drives continuous improvement in documentation standards, and acts as a key liaison with internal stakeholders and regulators.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
1. Balanced Scorecard (BSC) Audit Oversight
- Lead and manage the team in conducting post-transaction BSC reviews within stipulated timelines.
- Ensure audits are performed in compliance with MAS requirements, including FAA-N20, FAA-G14, FAA-N16, and prevailing BSC FAQs.
- Exercise sound judgement in assessing the quality and suitability of financial advisory services provided by representatives.
- Ensure consistent and defensible grading standards across audit cases.
- Monitor and ensure timely rectification of BSC findings and documentation gaps.
2. Regulatory Reporting
- Oversee quarterly reporting of BSC audit results to MAS.
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of regulatory submissions.
- Maintain proper documentation trails to support regulatory reviews and inspections.
3. Data Management & Analytics
- Manage and analyse large datasets from company systems and insurer platforms.
- Ensure accurate case selection, tracking, and audit progress monitoring.
- Develop and improve Excel-based tools (including macros) to enhance operational efficiency.
- Maintain reliable dashboards and management reports to track audit performance and trends.
4. Training & Stakeholder Management
- Design and deliver Annual Competency Training on BSC findings, shortfalls, and good practices.
- Provide targeted training and guidance to business stakeholders to uphold high standards in KYC and fact-finding documentation.
- Identify recurring audit issues and propose preventive controls or process improvements.
- Collaborate with Distribution, Compliance, and Business units to drive quality enhancement initiatives.
5. Project & Team Management
- Plan audit cycles and manage competing priorities to ensure steady weekly audit progress.
- Provide coaching and guidance to team members to maintain audit quality and consistency.
- Ensure proper workload allocation and team accountability.
- Drive process improvements to enhance audit efficiency and effectiveness.
6. Digital Survey & Review Tools
- Manage and administer digital client survey tools (e.g. Alchemer or equivalent platforms) for BSC reviews.
- Ensure data integrity and proper configuration of survey workflows.
WHO YOU ARE
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience working with the Balanced Scorecard Framework.
- Strong familiarity with FAA-N20, FAA-G14, FAA-N16, and BSC-related regulatory guidelines.
- Proven experience in preparing and submitting quarterly BSC audit reports to MAS.
- Solid understanding of insurance, investment products, and Collective Investment Schemes distributed by Financial Advisory firms.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including macros and data analysis functions).
- Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint and Word for reporting and presentation.
- Experience working with large datasets across multiple insurer and platform sources.
- Familiarity with Alchemer or similar digital survey tools.
