Job Description

Position: Tax Manager, APAC

Location: Singapore HQ

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tax Manager to lead our tax compliance and audit defense efforts across APAC, with a primary focus on Singapore and oversight of other key markets in the region. This role is critical in ensuring end-to-end tax compliance across our retail operations, production, supply chain, and digital platforms. The ideal candidate brings in-depth knowledge of Singapore tax regulations, exposure to APAC tax environments, and the agility to support a fast-growing consumer business with a retail footprint and omnichannel model.

Key Responsibilities

1. Tax Compliance & Reporting

  • Ensure accurate and timely filing of all tax returns (GST, Corporate Income Tax, Withholding Tax, etc.) in compliance with Singapore tax regulations, and oversee local compliance across other APAC markets as needed.
  • Monitor regulatory changes in Singapore and relevant APAC jurisdictions, assessing their implications for store operations, cross-border transactions, and supply chain flows.
  • Provide tax advisory support to business units on transaction structuring, intercompany pricing, promotions, and digital commerce initiatives.

2. Tax Audit Defense

  • Act as the lead liaison for tax audits and queries from IRAS and other regional tax authorities.
  • Prepare and review supporting documentation, reconciliations, and audit responses, ensuring alignment with commercial practices and tax positions.
  • Collaborate with external advisors to manage complex audits and disputes across the region.

3. Tax Risk Management

  • Identify and assess tax risks across multiple business models including dine-in, takeaway, e-commerce, and franchise operations.
  • Establish internal controls and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure robust tax compliance, particularly around vendor payments, fixed assets, and employee-related tax matters.
  • Conduct periodic internal reviews across markets to ensure audit readiness.

4. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with finance, operations, HR, legal, and procurement teams to embed tax compliance into everyday business processes.
  • Deliver tax training and updates to regional and local finance teams, as well as operational leaders.

5. Process & Technology Enhancement

  • Lead initiatives to digitalize and automate tax workflows through ERP, accounting, and POS systems.
  • Recommend and implement tools to enhance reporting accuracy, reduce manual work, and ensure compliance with e-tax systems across the region.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA, CA, or equivalent certification is highly preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of regional tax experience, preferably within F&B, retail, or consumer goods sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of tax laws (GST, corporate tax, audit procedures), with working knowledge of tax regulations across key APAC markets (e.g., Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, etc.).
  • Experience managing multi-entity, multi-country operations, including franchise or outlet-based models.
  • Exceptional analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with both corporate and field teams.
