Supervisor cum General Foreman (Construction)

Job Summary

The Supervisor cum General Foreman is responsible for supervising daily site operations, coordinating manpower and subcontractors, and ensuring all works are carried out safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and project schedules. The role requires strong leadership on site and the ability to work day and night shifts, including long working hours when required by project needs.

Key Responsibilities

Site Supervision & Operations

. Supervise and coordinate daily construction activities on site

. Plan, assign, and monitor workers tasks to meet project schedules

. Lead foremen and workers to ensure productivity and quality of work

. Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and site management

. Ensure works are carried out according to approved drawings and method statements

Safety, Quality & Compliance

. Enforce workplace safety rules and ensure compliance with WSH regulations

. Conduct daily toolbox meetings and site inspections

. Ensure proper use of PPE and safe work practices at all times

. Monitor workmanship quality and rectify defects promptly

. Assist in incident reporting and corrective actions

Progress & Reporting

. Monitor work progress and report daily site activities to Project Manager / Site Engineer

. Assist in planning manpower and materials to avoid delays

. Keep records of attendance, overtime, and site issues

. Support coordination during inspections, audits, and handover works

Work Schedule & Commitment

. Able and willing to perform day and night shift work

. Able to work long hours, weekends, and public holidays when required

. Available to support urgent site operations and tight project timelines

Job Requirements

Qualifications

. Minimum Diploma in Civil Engineering / Building / Construction Management or equivalent

. Relevant trade or technical certification will be an added advantage

Experience

. Minimum 5-8 years of relevant construction site experience

. Proven experience as Supervisor, General Foreman, or similar role

. Strong hands-on knowledge of site operations and construction sequencing

Skills & Competencies

. Strong leadership and people-management skills

. Good understanding of construction drawings and site coordination

. Knowledge of safety regulations and site best practices

. Able to work independently under pressure

. Good communication and problem-solving skills
