AWS Infrastructure Services is seeking an exceptional Senior Engineer to drive technical excellence and leadership across the APAC region. This role serves as a crucial bridge between senior technical leadership and the wider engineering organization to translate strategic vision into tactical execution while maintaining AWS's high standards of innovation and operational excellence.

As a Senior Engineer, you'll be instrumental in shaping technical partnerships and working directly with senior technical decision-makers to drive architectural improvements and foster a culture of engineering excellence. You'll partner with organizational leader and principal-level engineers to help scale our engineering capabilities while maintaining the highest standards of performance and reliability. This role offers unique exposure to AWS's most senior technical leaders and the opportunity to influence technical direction at a regional scale.

Key job responsibilities

1. Drive technical excellence and strategic direction across APAC engineering teams by establishing clear technical vision, standards, and execution frameworks aligned with Principal Engineer guidance.

2. Lead and develop technical partnerships with colocation providers, including creating and implementing measurable metrics for design quality, delivery efficiency, and operational excellence.

3. Provide technical mentorship and guidance to engineering teams, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development while ensuring alignment with organizational best practices.

4. Champion and drive technical initiatives across multiple teams, ensuring successful delivery of complex projects while maintaining high standards of quality and reliability.

5. Collaborate with portfolio managers/engineering manager to establish and maintain engineering metrics and KPIs to track team performance, project success, and operational efficiency across the region.

6. Lead architecture reviews and technical decision-making processes for critical projects, ensuring solutions meet both immediate needs and long-term strategic objectives.

7. Leading Bar-Raising activities together with Bar Raiser-I for Site Assessment and As-Built CDEs

8. Interface with cross-functional teams including product, operations, and infrastructure teams to align technical strategy with business objectives.

9. Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across the organization, effectively communicating technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

10. Identify and resolve technical blockers across multiple engineering teams, driving solutions that improve overall engineering productivity and efficiency.

11. Lead technical evaluations of new technologies and methodologies, providing recommendations for adoption based on organizational needs and strategic goals.

12. Lead the first level of technical escalation, conduct regular technical deep dives and knowledge sharing sessions to elevate the technical capabilities of the broader engineering organization.

13. Drive continuous improvement initiatives across engineering processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance team productivity and solution quality.
