As part of the Corporate Communications team, you will play a key role in telling these stories, raising awareness of mental health issues and strengthening IMH's position as the leading mental health institution for psychiatric care, research and education. Public outreach, media communication and stakeholder engagement are the main vehicles we ride on to achieve these objectives.

We are looking for a proactive and driven individual with relevant experience and a passion for mental health, to drive communication efforts in growing awareness and advocacy for mental health.

Job Description

You will be part of a team that plans and implements corporate communications programmes, including media publicity, branding, public education and outreach, and internal communication.

Job Responsibilities

  • Media Management

Contribute to media engagement, cultivate stakeholder relationships, develop messaging and narratives, identify media opportunities, pitch stories and work with the mainstream media to achieve positive or balanced reporting. Part of media engagement includes managing the communications for crisis or incidents.

  • Event Management

Support IMH departments for internal and external events and patient/public communication initiatives. This includes planning & execution, logistics and procurement, as well as publicity support – including creating and executing marketing and publicity plans – to raise awareness and encourage participation. You may also be required to provide support for matters related to guest-of-honour involvement (e.g. invitation, speech writing, etc.)

  • Branding communication

Work with the team and internal departments on brand development projects and campaigns to support business strategy, organisational goals and recruitment efforts. This includes ensuring consistent application of branding on various assets (signage, banners, posters, etc.), producing or reviewing materials to promote the IMH branding, and working with human resource department to incorporate branding into recruitment strategies.

  • Special Projects

Beyond your core responsibilities, you will be called upon to contribute to special projects on an ad hoc basis. These projects may vary widely in nature and scope, from conceptualising and producing video content that brings IMH's stories to life, to supporting heritage initiatives that document and celebrate the institution's history and legacy.

Requirements

What We're Looking For

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with an outgoing personality and the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
  • Analytical and strategic thinking capabilities, with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team
  • Good written English skills; proficiency in a second language is an advantage
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
  • A passion for mental health

Educational And Professional Requirements

  • A good degree in Communications or related discipline with 3 – 5 years of relevant work experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 tools (e.g. Excel and Word). Knowledge of statistics is advantageous.
  • Proficient in design tools and video editing software (e.g. Canva, CapCut) is an advantage
