Key Responsibilities
Supporting SQL Server upgrade projects (MSSQL 2016 to 2022, or 2025),
Experience in knowledge in Oracle
Plan and execute SQL Server version upgrades (In-place and Side-by-Side migrations) and ensuring minimal downtime and business continuity.
Conduct pre-upgrade assessment, compatibility checks, and risk analysis.
Manage database migration using backup/restore or Always On.
Perform performance tuning, index optimization, and query troubleshooting.
Monitor database health, storage utilization, and capacity planning.
Ensure backup, restore testing, and disaster recovery readiness.
Prepare upgrade documentation, rollback plan, and change management.
Troubleshoot production issues and provide root cause analysis.
Ensure security compliance, user access management, and auditing.
Required Skills & Experience
5-8 years of experience in SQL Server, Oracle and MariaDB database administrator activity
Experience in DB2, MariaDB database administrator is added advantages.
Experience in OS-level coordination for Windows/Nix Server upgrades.
Hands-on experience with:
SQL Always On Availability Groups
Strong T-SQL knowledge and performance tuning skills.
Experience with SQL Profiler, Extended Events, and execution plan analysis.
Good understanding of storage, IOPS, and capacity planning.
PowerShell /VBScript scripting for automation.
ITIL process knowledge (Change, Incident, Problem Management).
