Functions / Responsibilities
. Provide Level 2 database administration support for Microsoft SQL
Server, PostgreSQL, and Oracle platforms.
. Deliver 247 operational support including monitoring, incident
response, troubleshooting, and service restoration.
. Ensure database availability, performance, and stability in line with
service level commitments.
. Support databases across production, test, and non-production
environments.
. Design, implement, and operate backup and recovery strategies to
meet RPO and RTO requirements.
. Perform and validate database restoration and disaster recovery
tests.
. Implement and maintain database security controls including
access management, encryption, and auditing.
. Support database patching, upgrades, and configuration changes
through controlled change processes.
. Perform database performance monitoring, tuning, and capacity
planning.
. Maintain accurate documentation including configurations,
procedures, and runbooks.
Participate in problem management, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Performance Requirements:
Experience:
. 4-6 years of hands-on experience as a Database Administrator in
enterprise or managed services environments.
. Proven experience supporting Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL,
and Oracle in production environments.
. Experience working in 247 or mission-critical environments is
preferred.
Technical Skills
. Administration of Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and Oracle
Database platforms.
. Backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning.
. Database performance tuning and optimization.
. Security hardening, access control, and auditing.
. Database monitoring tools and alerting systems.
. Familiarity with ITIL-aligned incident, problem, and change
management processes.
. Scripting skills (SQL, PowerShell, shell scripting) are an advantage.
Certifications ( Preferred )
. Microsoft SQL Server certification.
. Oracle Database certification.
. PostgreSQL certification or equivalent experience.
. ITIL Foundation or equivalent service management certification.

operations.

tests.
. Reduction in recurring database incidents through effective
problem management.
. Active contribution to automation and continuous service
improvement initiatives.
Education / Qualifications
. Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology.
Databased Management, or a related discipline.
