Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Sous Chef / All-Rounder Cook to join our team at a seaside bistro. You will support the Head Chef in daily kitchen operations and ensure consistent food quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist Head Chef in menu execution for local Chinese dishes (zichar-style, stir-fry, noodles, rice dishes, etc.)
  • Prepare, cook, and plate dishes according to standards
  • Supervise kitchen team during service when required
  • Maintain high standards of food hygiene, safety & cleanliness (SFA standards)
  • Monitor inventory, assist with ordering and stock rotation
  • Ensure kitchen equipment is well maintained
  • Support in menu development, specials, and new dishes
  • Work closely with team to ensure smooth kitchen operations
  • Maintain consistency in taste, presentation, and portion control
  • Handle prep work efficiently (marination, sauces, cutting, mise en place)
  • Any other kitchen duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

  • Experience in Chinese / local cuisine is a must
  • Able to handle wok, stir-fry, steaming, and basic prep
  • Minimum 2-3 years of relevant experience
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Good teamwork, communication, and leadership attitude
  • Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene
  • Positive working attitude, responsible and reliable
  • Willing to work on weekends / public holidays (as per F&B norms)
  • Candidates looking to grow into Sous Chef or Head Chef role are welcome
