Role Summary:
The Solutions Engineer is responsible for delivering endtoend technical solutions during the presales and project lifecycle phases. This role bridges Sales, Engineering, and Operations by translating customer requirements into compliant, optimized, and costeffective HVAC and building systems solutions. The position emphasizes technical proposal development, solution design, testing & commissioning support, and technical stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
1) Solution Engineering & PreSales Support
- Analyse project specifications, drawings, and client requirements to design compliant and optimized HVAC / building system solutions.
- Perform solution engineering activities including system sizing, equipment selection, and preparation of Bills of Materials (BOM).
- Conduct site surveys and technical assessments to collect critical design data.
- Collaborate with Sales teams to provide technical clarifications, value engineering options, and solution alternatives.
- Prepare and deliver technical presentations, system architecture explanations, and solution walkthroughs to clients, consultants, and partners.
2) Technical Proposal & Tender Management
- Prepare and submit detailed technical proposals, compliance matrices, method statements, and supporting datasheets.
- Review tender documents and ensure all technical submissions meet contractual, statutory, and project specifications.
- Coordinate with internal engineering, procurement, and project teams to validate technical assumptions and solution feasibility.
- Support tender evaluations, technical negotiations, and value engineering discussions.
3) Testing, Commissioning & Technical Issue Resolution
- Support system testing, commissioning, and performance verification activities.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical issues related to HVAC / building systems (hardware and software).
- Develop workaround or alternative technical solutions to address site constraints, system limitations, or field failures.
- Provide onsite and remote technical support during critical project milestones.
4) Technical Documentation & Knowledge Management
- Produce technical documentation including system design reports, commissioning records, incident analysis, and maintenance guidelines.
- Maintain accurate technical databases covering installed systems, compliance status, and configuration records.
- Deliver technical training sessions to customers, partners, and internal teams.
- Contribute to standard solution templates, technical libraries, and bestpractice documentation.
5) CrossFunctional Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Act as a technical focal point between Sales, Engineering, Project Management, and AfterSales teams.
- Provide proactive technical updates and risk visibility throughout the solution and project lifecycle.
- Support product improvement initiatives by feeding back field insights and customer requirements.
- Participate in technical meetings, design reviews, and client presentations.
Requirements:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in HVAC, BMS, CRAC, or building systems solution engineering, pre-sales, or technical support is preferred. Fresh graduates with relevant academic or project experience are also encouraged to apply.
- Strong understanding of HVAC and building services systems, including mechanical and electrical fundamentals.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for technical documentation and presentations.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or BIM tools for drawing interpretation and design review.
- Familiarity with testing, commissioning, and performance validation methodologies.
