Job Description

Role Summary

The Robotics Solutions Architect is responsible for designing and defining end-to-end robotics solutions tailored to customer operational needs, environments, and business outcomes. This role leads the technical solutioning of complex robotics deployments, translating real-world use cases into safe, scalable, and commercially viable system architectures. The architect acts as the technical authority for customer solutions, ensuring feasibility, performance, and alignment with product capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design of customer-specific robotics solutions, from concept through deployment architecture.
  • Translate customer workflows, constraints, and objectives into complete system designs including robots, autonomy, sensors, infrastructure, networking, software, safety, and integrations.
  • Define solution architectures, block diagrams, data flows, and operational concepts (CONOPS).
  • Own technical requirements, assumptions, performance targets, and acceptance criteria for each solution.
  • Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies (environment, safety, regulations, IT/OT, operations).
  • Architect multi-robot, multi-system deployments including fleet management, command-and-control, and integration with customer platforms.
  • Ensure solutions meet safety, cybersecurity, reliability, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support pre-sales and bid activities: RFP responses, technical proposals, system sizing, BoQs, and executive presentations.
  • Lead technical solution assurance during PoCs and pilots, and guide transition into delivery.
  • Work closely with Product and Engineering to align customer needs with roadmap and identify capability gaps.
  • Act as the technical design authority for solutioning engineers and delivery teams.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in robotics, autonomous systems, system integration, or solution architecture.
  • Strong understanding of robotic systems: mobile robots and/or manipulators, perception, navigation, control, and autonomy stacks (e.g., ROS/ROS2).
  • Experience designing end-to-end systems including edge compute, cloud platforms, networking, and enterprise integration.
  • Proven customer-facing experience in technical solutioning or systems engineering roles.
  • Ability to produce high-quality architecture documentation and present to both technical and executive audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with large-scale deployments in security, airports, logistics, smart cities, or critical infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with functional safety and compliance.
  • Experience with fleet management systems, BMS, WMS, or command-and-control platforms.
  • Commercial acumen: ROI, TCO, and value engineering.

Key Competencies

  • Customer-centric solution design
  • Systems thinking and integration across hardware, software, AI, and operations
  • Safety-first and reliability-driven architecture
  • Clear technical storytelling and executive communication
  • Cross-functional leadership across sales, product, engineering, and delivery

Success Measures

  • Technical quality and win-rate of proposed solutions
  • Feasibility and performance of deployed systems
  • Customer satisfaction and operational outcomes
  • Speed and effectiveness of moving from use case to deployable architecture
  • Alignment between customer needs and product roadmap evolution
