Lead / Principal Solution Architect (Data)
Overview
As part of a broader digital transformation towards becoming an AI-enabled enterprise, you will serve as the principal data architecture consultant, providing strategic direction and technical leadership across the organisation.
You will assess and modernise existing data architectures, ensuring alignment with enterprise AI and analytics goals. This includes driving standardisation, enabling seamless system integration, and establishing a strong foundation for advanced analytics, machine learning, and AI adoption.
Working closely with business stakeholders, technology teams, and external partners, you will shape enterprise-wide data strategy, governance frameworks, and architectural best practices to accelerate data maturity and AI readiness.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead enterprise-wide data architecture reviews and assess alignment with strategic goals
- Define and drive data architecture standards, principles, and best practices
- Evaluate current data landscapes and identify transformation opportunities
- Design scalable architectures that support analytics, AI, and machine learning use cases
- Establish data governance frameworks, policies, and controls
- Enable integration across systems, platforms, and business units
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into architectural solutions
- Guide technology selection and ensure alignment with enterprise architecture frameworks
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, or a related field
- At least 8 years of experience in enterprise data architecture or consulting roles
- Proven experience conducting enterprise-level data architecture assessments
Technical Expertise
- Strong understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks and large-scale system integration
- Experience standardising data architectures across cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Familiarity with data architecture assessment tools and methodologies
- Hands-on experience with:Relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server)NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra)In-memory data stores (e.g., Redis)Modern data platforms and ecosystems
Data & AI Capabilities
- Understanding of AI/ML architecture patterns and data pipeline design
- Experience enabling data platforms for advanced analytics and intelligent systems
- Ability to design data ecosystems that support scalable AI use cases
Governance & Leadership
- Experience establishing enterprise data standards, governance, and policies
- Strong ability to influence architectural decisions across teams and business units
- Excellent analytical skills in evaluating complex data environments
