We're looking for a Software Engineer (Generative AI Engineer) to join our growing AI engineering team. About the Role
As a Software Engineer (Generative AI Engineer), you will play a key role in designing and building enterprise-grade AI platforms and agentic systems. You will work across LLM orchestration, AI workflows, retrieval systems, backend services, and cloud-native AI infrastructure to deliver intelligent applications that solve real business problems.
This is a hands-on engineering role suited for someone who enjoys building, experimenting, and rapidly shipping AI solutions while maintaining high standards of security, scalability, and reliability.
What You'll Be Doing
Build Agentic AI Systems
- Design and develop intelligent agent workflows using frameworks such as LangGraph, LangChain, LlamaIndex, n8n, and cloud-native AI services.
- Develop and integrate new agent capabilities, tools, APIs, and workflows.
- Build orchestration layers that enable autonomous agents to perform complex multi-step tasks.
Develop Advanced RAG Solutions
- Design and optimise Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines.
- Implement document ingestion, chunking, embedding, retrieval, reranking, and context management strategies.
- Integrate with modern LLM platforms and foundation models across AWS, Azure, and other AI ecosystems.
Build Scalable AI Platforms
- Design backend services and APIs that power AI applications and agent marketplaces.
- Develop systems that allow users to publish, manage, version, and share AI assets such as datasets, chatbots, agents, and reusable AI skills.
- Architect secure, scalable, and maintainable AI infrastructure.
Engineer Data & Search Capabilities
- Develop data ingestion and processing pipelines to support AI applications.
- Work with vector databases, search platforms, and retrieval systems to improve search quality and performance.
- Optimise data storage, indexing, and retrieval strategies.
Implement AI Observability & Evaluation
- Monitor and measure AI system performance, latency, token consumption, and tool usage.
- Build evaluation frameworks to assess model quality and reduce hallucinations.
- Improve reliability and operational visibility across AI workflows.
Ensure Enterprise Security & Governance
- Implement AI guardrails, prompt security controls, data masking, and output validation.
- Ensure solutions meet enterprise-grade security, compliance, and governance requirements.
- Support deployments within highly regulated environments.
Collaborate Across Engineering Teams
- Work closely with frontend engineers, data engineers, product teams, and solution architects.
- Contribute to system design discussions and technical decision-making.
- Participate in code reviews, architecture reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
What We're Looking For
Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of software engineering experience with strong backend development expertise.
- Strong proficiency in Python and modern software engineering practices.
- Experience designing and building APIs, distributed systems, and scalable backend services.
- Hands-on experience building Generative AI or LLM-powered applications.
- Experience with frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, LlamaIndex, CrewAI, or similar AI orchestration platforms.
- Strong understanding of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures.
- Experience working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
- Familiarity with vector databases, embeddings, and semantic search concepts.
- Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Nice to Have
- Experience with AWS Bedrock, Bedrock Agents, OpenSearch, or equivalent cloud AI services.
- Experience with workflow automation platforms such as n8n or Flowise.
- Experience implementing LLM observability, evaluation, or monitoring solutions.
- Experience building AI solutions in regulated industries such as government, banking, healthcare, or insurance.
- Familiarity with React, Next.js, or modern frontend development.
- Experience deploying AI workloads using Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
