Responsibilities
- Project and site management: Supervise, coordinate, and manage all tiling and plastering activities performed by subcontractors and site workers.
- Quality control: Inspect and ensure that all materials used and work performed meet the project's specifications and quality standards. This includes checking surface preparation, tile alignment, plaster consistency, and finishing.
- Schedule management: Create and monitor daily and weekly work schedules to ensure targets are met and that the tiling and plastering phases align with the overall project timeline.
- Technical guidance: Interpret technical drawings and specifications, provide technical advice to site staff, and resolve any on-site issues related to tiling and plastering.
- Resource and material management: Organize and requisition materials and tools, manage material storage, and ensure efficient use of resources to minimize waste and costs.
- Safety and compliance: Ensure all work is performed in compliance with health and safety regulations and that the workforce uses proper safety equipment.
- Documentation and reporting: Prepare daily and weekly progress reports, including site logs and quality assurance reports, for the Project Manager.
- Liaison: Coordinate with project managers, architects, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution and address any issues.
Skills and qualifications
- Technical expertise: In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations related to tiling and plastering, including surface preparation, mixing, application techniques, and finishing.
- Drawing interpretation: The ability to read and accurately interpret technical drawings and specifications for tiling and plastering works.
- Project management: Strong skills in planning, coordinating, and executing project tasks to meet deadlines and stay within budget.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively coordinate with different teams and report to management.
- Problem-solving: Ability to identify and resolve unexpected technical issues and other problems that arise on-site.
- Attention to detail: A meticulous and thorough approach to ensure high standards of workmanship.
- Leadership: Strong leadership abilities to supervise and manage a team of workers and subcontractors.
- Educational background: A Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field is often required.
