Ensure all construction activities comply with client requirements, project specifications, and internal quality and safety standards.
Report regularly to the Construction Manager on progress, site issues, and compliance matters.
Prepare and update a Two-Month Short-Term Micro Programme based on the Master Programme.
Coordinate and supervise subcontractors manpower, equipment, and daily activities to meet quality and safety targets.
Issue and follow up on Material Conformance Declarations (MCDs) and internal Site Memoranda.
Review and monitor non-conforming items or materials, and assist in rectification processes.
Support the Project Manager in implementing the company's Quality, Environmental, Safety, and Health (QESH) Management System on-site.
Coordinate site inspections with Resident Engineers, Clerks-of-Works, and Resident Technical Officers (RTOs).
Assist in planning, programming, and monitoring of construction work progress in accordance with Safe Work Procedures (SWP).
Liaise with clients, consultants, and relevant stakeholders to resolve technical and engineering issues.
Participate in Civil & Structural (C&S) risk assessments and development of Safe Work Procedures, including for temporary structures.
Conduct engineering safety inspections, especially for excavation, crane operations, climbing platforms, and material handling areas.
Ensure strict compliance with Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) regulations and project safety requirements.
Supervise concrete cube sampling and testing, ensuring proper compaction and curing to meet compressive strength requirements.
Maintain concrete test records and other inspection documentation.
Oversee the daily work of site supervisors and foremen, and coordinate their activities.
Implement corrective and preventive actions as directed by the Project Manager or Safety/Environmental Officers.
Recommend and enforce STOP WORK ORDERS in case of critical health, safety, or environmental non-compliance.
Job Requirements:
Education: Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline.
Experience: Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a construction or site engineering role, preferably with experience in both structural and architectural works.
Technical Skills: Familiarity with construction drawings, specifications, and local regulatory requirements. Proficient in MS Project or similar planning software for scheduling. Good knowledge of concrete works, material testing, and quality control processes.
Certifications: Familiarity with Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) regulations. Possession of relevant safety certifications (e.g., CSOC, BCSS, or equivalent) is advantageous.
