Job Summary
You will perform testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of analytical systems for local and overseas projects, ensuring compliance with technical standards and supporting continuous improvement and customer service initiatives.
Responsibilities
- To perform In-House Testing (IHT) and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), which include pressure and leak test of various analytical systems, continuity and insulation resistance testing of all power and signal cabling, functionality testing, validation and/or calibration of different types of process analyzers and auxiliary components, troubleshooting of entire integrated systems.
- Perform Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) and Commissioning of project packages after site installation.
- To prepare and ensure that testing records and other related technical documents for all analytical systems are kept and maintained in the department documentation system.
- To markup engineering drawings and update changes and corrections observed and implemented during the package IHT and/or FAT.
- To improve technical writing ability and develop customized testing procedures according to project specifications.
- To ensure ownership of and compliance to all departments and company initiatives.
- To perform internal and external coordination with regards to issues related to projects, overseas commissioning and local maintenance activities.
- To respond to technical inquiries sent by local and/or overseas customers. To perform necessary technical review and evaluation and develop corrective actions whenever applicable.
- To carry outcustomer site services for preventive maintenance and shutdown of analyticssystems.
- To carry outon- call/emergency service jobs for local customers.
- To supportthe department training initiatives and assist in developing the skills of newengineers and technicians.
- To supportthe department initiatives on customer service, best practices, testingmethods, documentation, job planning and project execution.
- To keep track of his/her own competency development using the department's competency matrix and assessment.
- To support the company initiatives on safety and continuous improvement.
- May be assigned for long term service contracts in Jurong Island or other local or overseas customer sites.
- To perform site SAT, Commissioning and Startup technical support services for analyzer systems.
- Willingness to take up assignment for oversea long/short term maintenance contracts.
Required competencies and certifications
- Polytechnic Diploma or equivalent in Electrical, Electronics, or Instrumentation engineering
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience with analyzers in Refinery, Chemical, Petrochemical, Pharmaceutical, or Power Plant environments
- Proficient in engineering units, calculations, scientific theories, and principles relevant to process analyzers
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Effective communication skills in written and spoken English
- Ability to write clear and effective service reports
- Familiarity with signal processing, transmission, computer software applications, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), and Modbus Communication Protocol
- Knowledge of metrology guidelines, testing instruments, and global standards such as ASTM, API, and ISO
