Job Description

The National Coach will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing the mid and long term strategic and tactical campaigns of the Sepaktakraw Major Games Preparation Committee (MGPC) plans and objectives. The National Coach reports directly to the Sepaktakraw Major Games Preparation Committee.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

High Performance

  • Develop and implement High Performance Training Programme, Daily Training Environment (DTE) and competition schedule for the National Sepaktakraw team in preparation for the 2026 Asian Games and 2027 SEA Games (and essential pre-competition events).
  • Prepare and upkeep monthly attendance records, analysis/reports of training and competition achievements of athletes against the Key Performance Indicators (KPI) set.
  • Travel with players when required for training and tournaments to manage administration and provide coaching support.
  • Ensure players maintain discipline and adhere to the Player's Agreement and Code of Conduct.
  • Maintain and update meticulous records and files of individual athletes/teams with regular assessment of the players core capabilities, discipline, and development progress.

Stakeholder and Relationship Management

  • To act in the best interest of the Sepaktakraw MGPC at all times and avoid any interest, activity, or relationship that conflicts with the interests of the Sepaktakraw MGPC.
  • To have a clear understanding of Sepaktakraw MGPC's objectives and plans.
  • Maintain a clear channel of communication with all players and parents.
  • Assist with and attend Sepaktakraw MGPC organised events and tournaments as required.
  • Attend and contribute at all Sepaktakraw MGPC meetings as required.

SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND PERSONAL TRAITS

  • 2 years previous coaching experience with elite, national or club players preferred.
  • Possess a NROC coaching certification equivalent.
  • Former athlete or other elite competition experience would be an advantage.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Should be self-motivated and driven individual who is result-oriented.
  • Must be technologically savvy. Experience in, or have willingness to learn, the Microsoft Office suite and other relevant applications required for the job.

Personnel may be required to work on weekends and evenings and may be required to travel.

The coach will be engaged on a service contract.
