We are seeking a skilled Systems Engineer to manage and maintain IT infrastructure, ensuring system reliability, performance, and security. The role involves proactive monitoring,incident management, system optimization, and supporting business continuitythrough effective backup and disaster recovery processes.
Key Responsibilities
1. System Health & Maintenance
- Perform daily and proactive system health checks based on runbooks and scheduled scripts
- Conduct periodic system housekeeping activities
- Monitor and maintain storage arrays, SAN switches, tape libraries, and backup servers
- Identify and resolve issues such as hung processes, failed jobs, and long-running tasks
2. Incident & Problem Management
- Act as the single point of contact for incident management, including 24x7 on-call support
- Monitor system alerts and hardware alarms using enterprise tools and raise incidents as needed
- Manage and prioritize incident queues, ensuring timely resolution and escalation
- Restore services with minimal disruption and without impacting underlying infrastructure
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement preventive measures
3. Change & Configuration Management
- Implement system and configuration changes in accordance with approved Change Requests
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date asset configurations and system documentation
- Ensure compliance with organizational change management processes
Requirements
Technical Skills
- Strong experience in system administration and infrastructure support
- Hands-on experience with storage systems, SAN switches, and backup solutions
- Familiarity with monitoring and alerting tools
- Knowledge of incident, problem, and change management processes (ITIL framework preferred)
- Experience in system patching, security hardening, and access management
- Understanding of backup and disaster recovery strategies
- Basic knowledge of networking and server performance tuning
