Senior Staff Nurse

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced nursing care for patients with moderate-to-high acuity, including rapid assessments and interventions for unstable patients, and lead resuscitation efforts. Oversee shift workflow, staff deployment, and patient allocation while providing real-time clinical supervision and mentorship to junior nurses. Ensure accurate charge capture, review nursing and discharge documentation for completeness, and collaborate with administrative and finance teams on billing discrepancies. Manage medication and consumables inventory, ensure compliance with infection prevention protocols, and maintain accuracy of medical reports for audits and regulatory purposes. Monitor adherence to clinical protocols, participate in incident investigations, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety and care standards. Address complex patient and family concerns with empathy, support discharge planning and patient education, and uphold service excellence.

Requirements

• BSc in Nursing or Advanced Diploma in Emergency Nursing. Current registration with the relevant nursing board and a valid practising certificate, along with current BCLS certification. A minimum of 5 to 7 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in urgent care, emergency, acute, or ambulatory care settings. ACLS certification and relevant emergency/urgent care certifications (e.g., ENCC, ATNCC) are advantageous. Strong understanding of patient flow, escalation protocols, and acute care coordination. Familiarity with clinical governance, quality improvement, and audit frameworks. Availability to work rotating shifts, including overnight shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
