Software System Engineer (CW)
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with external engineering partners to clarify requirements, resolve integration challenges, and maintain strong technical alignment.
- Lead systemlevel OS integration across multiple platforms, ensuring reliable build, configuration, and validation workflows.
- Analyze complex system behavior using logs, traces, and performance data to diagnose issues related to stability and responsiveness.
- Manage issue tracking and escalations, ensuring clear documentation, prioritization, and consistent communication with stakeholders.
- Contribute to a collaborative engineering environment by sharing insights, supporting continuous improvement, and mentoring team members when needed.
- Apply automation tools and scripting to streamline build processes, repetitive tasks, and diagnostic workflows, improving engineering efficiency.
- Evaluate how emerging technologiesincluding AIdriven system features or intelligent optimizationsmay impact platform behavior, performance, and user experience.
Education & Experience Recommended
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience.
- 58 years of experience in system engineering, OS integration, platform bringup, or related technical fields.
- Solid understanding of operating system fundamentals, especially within Windowsbased platforms; familiarity with other OS environments is a plus.
- Experience working with firmware, drivers, platform configuration, or lowlevel system interactions.
- Ability to break down complex issues, outline clear action plans, and deliver results within agreed timelines.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to summarize technical findings for both engineering and nonengineering audiences.
Knowledge & Skills
- Experience working with ODM partners, silicon vendors, or other external engineering teams.
- Familiarity with issue tracking systems, debugging workflows, and crosscomponent triage.
- Knowledge of modern project execution practices such as Agile workflows, continuous improvement, and structured risk evaluation.
- Exposure to configuration management frameworks, device management tools, or BI/reporting dashboards (e.g., Power BI).
- Understanding of AIenhanced system features, intelligent diagnostics, or automationdriven development workflows.
- Proficiency in scripting or automation languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) to optimize build flows, diagnostics, or workflow efficiency.
