Job Summary
You will manage quantity surveying tasks including tender evaluation, cost analysis, and contract administration to support commercial interior projects, ensuring accuracy and compliance throughout project execution.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and review tender drawings and documents to identify discrepancies and additional BOQ items, incorporating these into tender offers
- Liaise with consultants to clarify ambiguities in contract work scope and ensure accurate tender submissions
- Source and obtain at least three quotations from vendors and subcontractors for start-rated items to support procurement decisions
- Prepare bills of quantities by coordinating with Design, Procurement, and Finance teams to ensure comprehensive costing
- Assist in costing, pricing, and analyzing direct and indirect costs for BOQ items to support budget accuracy
- Conduct site visits as required to take measurements and monitor project progress against plans
- Review site requisitions and compare them against approved BOQs to verify accuracy and compliance
- Analyze subcontractor work progress and recommend payment amounts based on completed work, issuing payment requests to Finance
- Submit and negotiate contract variations, additional works, and maintenance orders to manage project scope changes
- Perform ad-hoc duties assigned by Management or Commercial Manager to support project and commercial objectives
Required competencies and certifications
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Building, Civil Engineering, or equivalent
- Minimum 3 to 4 years of relevant experience handling quantity surveying in construction, specifically in M&E or Interior Design projects
- Knowledge of building conditions of contract to ensure compliance and risk management
- Proficiency in material costing to accurately estimate project expenses
