Job Description
Job Responsibilities
- Assist the QA/QC Manager in implementing and maintaining the project Quality Management System.
- Monitor and control the quality of construction works in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements and project requirements.
- Prepare, review and implement Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), checklists and inspection procedures.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor workmanship and compliance with approved construction methods.
- Coordinate inspection and testing activities with consultants, client representatives, subcontractors and relevant testing agencies.
- Review inspection requests, material submissions, test reports and quality documentation.
- Monitor the quality of materials delivered to site and ensure that only approved materials are used.
- Coordinate concrete, structural, architectural and other relevant inspection and testing activities.
- Identify construction defects, non-conformities and quality issues and ensure timely corrective actions.
- Raise and follow up on Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), Corrective Action Requests (CARs) and other quality issues.
- Monitor subcontractors quality performance and ensure compliance with project specifications and approved method statements.
- Review subcontractors inspection and testing records and ensure proper documentation.
- Coordinate with the engineering, design and construction teams to resolve technical and quality-related issues.
- Assist in conducting internal quality audits and site quality inspections.
- Monitor rectification works and verify closure of outstanding defects and NCRs.
- Maintain proper records of inspection reports, test results, material approvals, NCRs and other QA/QC documentation.
- Prepare periodic quality reports and update the QA/QC Manager on quality performance and outstanding issues.
- Participate in quality meetings, site coordination meetings and technical discussions.
- Conduct quality briefings and provide guidance to site personnel and subcontractors on quality requirements.
- Assist in monitoring compliance with Singapore Standards, relevant codes of practice and project specifications.
- Support project completion, defects rectification and handover activities.
- Assist in compiling quality records, as-built documentation and handover dossiers.
Job Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant QA/QC experience in the construction industry.
- Experience in large-scale building projects is preferred.
- Experience in hospital, healthcare, institutional or complex building projects will be an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of construction inspection, testing and quality control procedures.
- Experience in preparing and implementing ITPs, checklists and method statements.
- Good understanding of construction materials, workmanship and testing requirements.
- Experience in NCR management, defect rectification and corrective action processes.
- Familiarity with Singapore Standards and relevant construction codes and requirements.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management System will be an advantage.
- Relevant QA/QC or quality-related certification will be an advantage.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and construction documentation systems.
- Strong communication, coordination and problem-solving skills.
- Able to work independently and coordinate effectively with consultants, subcontractors and site teams.
