Job Summary
We are seeking a Project Manager based in Singapore to lead core system implementation projects for leasing companies. You will serve as a vital liaison between enterprise customers, Japan HQ, and Singapore-based product, engineering, and delivery teams, ensuring that complex leasing business requirements are accurately translated into a Singapore-developed core system. This role demands strong project management skills and deep or rapidly acquired domain expertise in leasing business operations.
Key Responsibilities
Core System Project Management
- Lead end-to-end project management for core business systems serving leasing companies, including scope, schedule, cost, quality, and risk management
- Manage complex system implementation projects covering leasing lifecycle processes such as contract management, billing, asset management, accounting, and reporting
- Ensure system designs and implementations meet the operational, regulatory, and reporting requirements of leasing businesses
Japan-Focused Stakeholder Engagement
- Serve as the primary point of contact for leasing company customers and Japan HQ stakeholders
- Conduct requirements definition, specification reviews, and change management discussions in English and Japanese
- Manage customer expectations in accordance with Japan HQ standards, including detailed documentation, structured reporting, and consensus-based decision-making
Collaboration with Singapore-based Teams
- Work closely with Singapore-based product management, engineering, QA, and customer success teams responsible for developing and delivering the core system
- Translate leasing business requirements into clear, actionable specifications for local teams
- Facilitate effective day-to-day communication with local staff in English within a multicultural environment
Leasing Domain Knowledge & Capability Building
- Apply existing knowledge of leasing industry operations, or actively acquire leasing domain expertise through project execution
- Share leasing business knowledge with Singapore-based teams to improve product understanding and delivery quality
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of domain-specific implementation methodologies and best practices
Regional & Organizational Contribution
- Support the establishment and enhancement of project management standards and governance within the Singapore entity
- Mentor and support local project members through knowledge transfer and structured guidance
- Participate in regional ASEAN projects as required, acting as a hub between Japan and Southeast Asia operations
Required Qualifications
- Native-level Japanese language proficiency (spoken and written), essential for managing leasing company customers and Japan HQ
- Business-level English proficiency for daily collaboration with Singapore-based and regional teams
- Proven experience as a Project Manager for enterprise or core business systems
- Experience working with Japanese corporate customers or within Japanese organizations
- Strong understanding of Japanese business practices, documentation standards, and stakeholder management
- Willingness and ability to acquire leasing industry domain knowledge through hands-on project involvement
- Experience working in cross-cultural or multinational environments
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in leasing, finance, or asset-based financing industries
- Experience with core systems related to leasing, finance, or accounting
- Experience managing system implementation projects for leasing companies
- Experience working with products developed outside Japan (e.g., Singapore or global development teams)
- Experience contributing to PMO setup, process standardization, or team capability development
