Job Description

Role Overview The Head of Procurement is responsible for shaping and executing the organisations procurement strategies, supplier management, and operational excellence. This role oversees the end-to-end procurement function, ensures alignment with business objectives, and drives cross-department collaboration to achieve optimal business performance.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Procurement Leadership

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with the organisations overall business direction.
  • Lead procurement planning for large-scale projects and new initiatives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external vendors to drive value.
  • Establish and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to track procurement effectiveness.

Supplier Management

  • Define supplier evaluation frameworks and oversee the selection process.
  • Review and endorse supplier proposals, specifications, and statements of work.
  • Lead negotiations and recommend best-fit suppliers in line with organisational standards.
  • Develop and communicate procurement strategies, policies, and guidelines.

Procurement Operations

  • Forecast inventory requirements based on business needs and market conditions.
  • Approve supplier payments after validation of deliveries and reconciliations.
  • Implement procurement audit procedures to minimise risks and ensure compliance.
  • Oversee contract management, including modifications based on supplier performance.
  • Approve SOPs, quality assurance standards, and supplier audit criteria.
  • Optimise Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) through pricing, costing, and demand projections.
  • Review and endorse departmental budgets, providing P&L insights to management.

Business Intelligence & Innovation

  • Establish quality control standards and procedures for procurement and inventory management.
  • Lead financial budgeting for the procurement department.
  • Drive the adoption of technology solutions to enhance efficiency and innovation.
  • Continuously review processes and outcomes, implementing improvements where needed.
  • Approve stock write-offs and ensure effective resource utilisation.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of procurement and supply chain management experience, preferably within the F&B industry.
  • Proven leadership experience managing teams of at least 10 members.
  • Strong track record in procurement strategy, supplier negotiations, and operational excellence.
