Job Description

Role Overview

Works as part of the Pricing team, providing support to more senior actuarial colleagues across a range of Pricing activities ensuring we are able to win and maintain profitable business.

Role Responsibilities

  • Supports senior actuarial colleagues with activities including quote work within the Pricing team by processing, analyzing, interpreting data and conducting research alongside having a good understanding of the context of the task we are trying to solve, and making related recommendations
  • Appropriately documents relevant considerations (including in pricing papers) with demonstration of thought processes under the guidance from senior colleagues
  • Assist in conducting experience reviews for in-force treaty reviews including collating data, analysis and results documentation
  • Suggest and supports the wider Pricing team with improvements across processes, tools, models and documentation including challenging current practices
  • Effective communication skills, ensuring appropriate stakeholder management within the pricing team including providing updates at the appropriate time
  • Develop internal relationships within and across teams.
  • Has a good understanding of the markets that the business operates in.

Skills & Experience

  • 2-4 years of working experience in the (re)insurance industry with significant experience in Pricing or Valuation
  • Studying for actuarial exams and make progress towards fellowship of a professional actuarial body
  • Experience of using Prophet, MoSes, Tyche or similar modelling platforms
  • Experience of applying AI/ML techniques and generative AI tools to support efficiency improvements
  • Good analytical skills and a demonstrable ability to plan, prioritise workloads and deliver tasks on time.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to build and manage relationships with stakeholders in Actuarial and non-Actuarial teams.
  • Advanced understanding of Microsoft Excel and Word.
