Senior Officer or Assistant Manager (Finance)

The Senior Officer or Assistant Manager role reports to Head of Finance who in turn reports to Chief Financial Officer.

Key Responsibilities

The incumbent will be responsible for the accurate and timely preparation of regulatory and financial reports, as well as for delivering financial information and analysis related to specific ledgers.

  1. Prepare and review daily ledger control reconciliation reports for Asia branches, including investigation, follow-up and proper documentation of reconciliation discrepancies.
  2. Support monthly financial closing activities, including the preparation of journal entries and month-end intercompany reconciliation reports.
  3. Review accounts payables transactions (e.g., expenses and staff claims), to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal policies and external regulations including Singapore GST and withholding tax requirements.
  4. Assist in internal management reporting, including the preparation of daily Profit & Loss report for Treasury and Markets.
  5. Prepare regulatory returns (e.g., MAS Notice 610) ensuring validation and reconciliation against the General Ledger, along with variance analysis.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Accountancy or its equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in Finance within the banking industry.
  • Candidates with more extensive experience may be considered for the Assistant Manager position.
  • Strong attention to detail, hands-on approach, and ability to work effectively across multiple systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
