Role Overview
We are seeking a high-caliber Senior Network Engineer to drive network architecture, operations excellence, and service resilience across enterprise environments. This role plays a pivotal position in ensuring high availability, security, and performance of mission-critical network infrastructures. The successful candidate will operate as a technical authority, execution leader, and escalation backbone within the network operations model.
Key Responsibilities
Network Engineering and Operations
- Design, implement, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure including LAN, WAN, WLAN, and SD WAN environments
- Provide L2 and L3 support for complex network incidents and service disruptions
- Perform network performance tuning, capacity planning, and proactive optimization
- Execute firmware upgrades, configuration changes, and security hardening
- Support 24x7 operational environments where required
Security and Compliance
- Implement and enforce network security controls including firewalls, IPS, VPN, NAC, and segmentation
- Support regulatory, audit, and cybersecurity compliance frameworks
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and remediation exercises
Project Delivery and Tech Refresh
- Lead network components for infrastructure refresh, data centre migration, and cloud connectivity projects
- Support rollout of new sites, expansions, and large scale user environments
- Partner with vendors and internal stakeholders for solution delivery
Monitoring and Automation
- Configure and manage network monitoring tools
- Develop automation scripts for health checks, alerts, and configuration backups
- Drive continuous service improvement initiatives
Stakeholder and Governance
- Provide technical advisory to architecture, security, and operations teams
- Prepare technical documentation, network diagrams, and SOPs
- Participate in change management, incident reviews, and root cause analysis
Required Technical Skills
- Strong hands-on expertise in Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto, Aruba, or equivalent enterprise platforms
- Proficient in routing and switching protocols including BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, VLAN, STP
- Deep experience in firewall security, VPN, load balancing, and network segmentation
- Solid exposure to data center networking and cloud connectivity
- Experience with network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, PRTG, Zabbix or equivalent
- Scripting exposure using Python, PowerShell, or Bash is an added advantage
Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline
- Minimum 5 to 8 years of enterprise network engineering experience
- Relevant certifications preferred such as CCNP, CCIE, NSE, PCNSE, or equivalent
- Proven experience supporting large scale, high availability environments
