The role requires strong expertise in Oracle Database, Middleware (WebLogic, Forms & Reports), integration tools and project delivery, along with proven leadership in managing stakeholders, migrations and regulatory-driven projects across APAC.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end project delivery (requirement gathering, design, capacity planning, scheduling, execution, testing, and go-live).
  • Lead end-to-end migration projects covering database, middleware, scheduling tools, and OS platforms, ensuring smooth transition with zero business disruption.
  • Manage infrastructure migration projects (OS upgrades, DB migrations, Middleware upgrades, Autosys job transitions, MQ/SSO migrations).
  • Coordinate with stakeholders, vendors, and cross-functional teams across multiple countries to ensure timely project execution.
  • Oversee production L3 support for middleware & DB environments, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., OCC).
  • Install and configure Oracle Databases (9i-19c), including RAC and standalone environments, with proper sizing, storage allocation, and security hardening.
  • Perform installation and configuration of Oracle WebLogic Server (12c/14c), including creating domains, clusters, and managed servers for high availability setups.
  • Set up and configure Oracle Forms & Reports infrastructure, including instance creation, runtime configuration, and integration with WebLogic domains.
  • Design and configure JDBC data sources, connection pools, and deployment environments for applications (WAR/EAR).
  • Configure SSL/TLS, SSO (SiteMinder/Secure SSO), and other security components during middleware installation.
  • Fine-tune Oracle Forms & Reports runtime parameters, ensuring faster response times and stable concurrent user sessions.
  • Analyse and resolve Forms rendering issues, report generation delays, and session bottlenecks in production environments.
  • Perform SQL query tuning and optimization using execution plans, indexes and bind variables to improve transaction performance in critical banking applications.
  • Analyze AWR (Automatic Workload Repository) and ADDM (Automatic Database Diagnostic Monitor) reports to identify system bottlenecks, inefficient queries, and resource-heavy sessions.
  • Optimize PL/SQL procedures, packages, and migration scripts, reducing execution time and improving efficiency in large-scale data migration projects.
  • Monitor database memory structures (SGA, PGA) and adjust configurations for optimal throughput.
  • Fine-tune database parameters, indexes, and statistics to ensure high availability and minimal response time.
  • Collaborate with application developers and business analysts to review SQL code and recommend improvements before production deployment.
  • Support client teams by providing recommendations for SQL & DB environment performance improvements.
  • Ensure database tuning practices comply with audit and performance SLAs for mission-critical banking systems.
  • Design, develop, and maintain shell scripts to automate routine database, middleware, and application administration tasks (backups, monitoring, job scheduling, log rotation, file transfers).
  • Enhance existing scripts by improving error handling, logging, and performance optimization to ensure reliability in production environments.
  • Troubleshoot and fix script-related issues in BAU (Business-As-Usual) and project environments, ensuring minimal business impact.
  • Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to analyze requirements and implement script-based solutions for new business or infra needs.
  • Develop custom utility scripts for infra monitoring, batch job automation, and report generation.
  • Conduct code reviews and knowledge sharing to improve team scripting standards.
  • Conduct risk assessment, impact analysis, and mitigation planning for project delivery.
  • Plan and coordinate High Availability (HA) setups for critical banking applications, ensuring minimal downtime and adherence to RTO/RPO targets.
  • Ensure HA/DR/COB exercises are defect-free, with successful cutover, fallback, and validation of infra components (DB, Middleware, MQ, Autosys, File transfers).
  • Design, implement, and validate Disaster Recovery (DR) strategies across primary and secondary data centers, ensuring readiness for failover in case of outages or incidents
  • Act as primary coordinator during critical failover situations, ensuring seamless business continuity without impact to end users
  • Coordinate annual and ad-hoc Continuity of Business (COB) testing across APAC markets, involving multi-country stakeholders, to validate business continuity and regulatory compliance.
  • Drive automation initiatives (shell scripting, SQL optimization, job scheduling improvements) to improve system reliability.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentor junior team members in database, middleware, and project delivery best practices.
  • Prepare and deliver project status reports to senior management and client stakeholders.
