We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer with strong experience in mechanical design using CAD tools such as PTC Creo, EFEM modules and a background in the semiconductor industry. The role is primarily focused on mechanical engineering and equipment design, with experience working in cleanroom environments.
Mechanical Engineer
We are seeking a skilled Engineer with hands-on experience in wafer handling, end-effector design, and mechanical system integration. The candidate will be responsible for developing, integrating, and optimizing
robotic systems used in semiconductor manufacturing environments.
Roles & Responsibilities
• Develop, program, and optimize wafer handling for semiconductor tools.
• Design and validate custom end effectors suitable for various wafer sizes.
• Integrate robotic systems with process chambers, load ports, aligners, and EFEM modules.
• Ensure mechanical alignment, repeatability, and contamination control compliance.
• Work closely with electrical, controls, and software teams for full system integration.
• Conduct system testing, troubleshooting, and performance validation.
• Support installation, commissioning, and customer site acceptance testing (SAT).
• Prepare technical documentation including design specifications and integration reports.
• Analyze and optimize existing motion control systems to improve performance, accuracy, and reliability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate motion control solutions into semiconductor manufacturing processes.
• Perform calculations and analysis to ensure system performance and reliability.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, test procedures, and user manuals.
Requirements (Must Have)
• Bachelor's/ Master's degree in mechanical engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in designing and implementing motion control systems, preferably in the semiconductor industry.
• Experience in semiconductor automation or wafer handling systems.
• Understanding of SEMI standards and cleanroom requirements.
Strong knowledge of:
• Precision mechanical design
• Hands-on experience with CAD tools (Creo).
• Experience in mechanical tolerance stack-up and alignment methodologies.
• Experience working with robotic systems from semiconductor OEMs.
• Familiarity with FMEA, DFMEA, and reliability testing.
• Strong problem-solving skills, Attention to precision and detail, Cross-functional
collaboration
• Ability to work in fast-paced NPI environments
• Customer-facing communication capability
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Requirements (Nice to have)
• Knowledge of wafer mapping, alignment, and edge detection systems.
• Understanding of SEMI standards and cleanroom requirements.
• Familiarity with Motion control, Kinematics and their integration with motion control.
• Familiarity with PLC programming and industrial control systems.
