Job Description

  • Develop and implement action plans for forging multilateral partnerships that enhance the impact of bilateral collaborations, and/or bridge university communities in different geographical regions.
  • Develop and implement plans for securing SMU's participation and/or membership in multilateral alliances/networks and forums aligned with SMU's strategic priorities.
  • Advise and support SMU leadership in external engagements, including managing incoming visits by partners/higher education institutes and staffing SMU principals for outgoing missions.
  • Craft and disseminate stories of SMU's strengths in education, research, impact and as Asia's Gateway University.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • At least 8 years of experience and proven high-level skills and achievements in multilateral diplomacy, partner and project management - across countries, preferably in higher education and research, and in leading teams, including cross-cultural teams.
  • Strategic, analytical and creative thinker, with strong communications/writing skills.
  • Entrepreneurial, resourceful and resilient.
  • Meticulous with an eye for detail and an advocate for good processes and documentation.
  • Driven, and with the ability to manage multiple, competing tasks and deadlines with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Good combination of high intelligence, emotional and cultural quotient.
