Job Role:
As Senior Manager Logistics & Distribution you will strategically lead and manage the whole supply chain process from inbound through to outbound fulfilment.
You will manage the team on the physical process of execution, being responsible for managing incoming shipments, inventory control and warehousing. You will also manage the OPEX, ensuring profitability by controlling cost on the overall supply chain process. You will also represent the SATS Food Solutions on all interface with external vendors/suppliers in the area of outsourced warehousing and trucking operations. The role is critical in supporting regional logistics hubs, optimizing supply chain performance, and ensuring the timely and safe movement of perishable goods across borders.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Freight Operations (Air & Sea Import/Export):
- Oversee and manage end-to-end freight operations for perishable food products across air and sea channels.
- Ensure compliance with international food safety standards, customs regulations, and cold chain requirements.
- Coordinate with freight forwarders, airlines, shipping lines, and customs authorities to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
2. Regional Support & Coordination:
- Act as the central point of contact for regional logistics teams, providing operational support and guidance.
- Standardize processes and documentation across countries to ensure consistency and efficiency.
- Support new market entries and regional expansion initiatives.
3. Compliance & Quality Assurance:
- Ensure adherence to food safety regulations (e.g., HACCP, ISO 22000) and SATS internal quality standards.
- Conduct regular audits and risk assessments of logistics partners and processes.
4. Strategic Planning & Optimization:
- Identify opportunities to optimize freight costs, transit times, and inventory flow.
- Leverage data analytics to drive continuous improvement in logistics performance.
- Collaborate with planning, procurement and production teams to align logistics strategies with business needs.
5. Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead and mentor a team of logistics professionals within the Regional Support Group.
- Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, innovation, and customer-centricity.
6. Stakeholder Engagement:
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders (e.g., operations, procurement, QA) and external partners.
- Serve as the escalation point for complex logistics issues and provide timely resolutions.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field. Masters degree preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in logistics and distribution, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Proven experience in air and sea freight operations (import/export), preferably in the food or perishable goods industry.
- Strong understanding of cold chain logistics, international trade regulations, and customs procedures.
- Experience working in a regional or multi-country logistics environment, ideally within Asia.

- Analytical mindset with a focus on process improvement and cost optimization.
- Proficiency in logistics systems (e.g., TMS, WMS, ERP).
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, regulated, and customer-focused environment.
- Multilingual capabilities, particularly in Mandarin, is an added advantage.
