Position Summary
Rolls-Royce Power Systems delivers mission-critical solutions across power generation, marine, energy, and industrial applications, including diesel and gas engines, hybrid systems, and distributed energy systems.
We are seeking a
Senior Manager, Procurement Indirect APAC to lead and drive indirect procurement strategies, supplier management, and operational procurement excellence across the APAC region.
This role will be responsible for managing indirect procurement categories that support manufacturing operations, service operations, engineering, facilities, logistics, IT, professional services, and business functions across multiple APAC markets. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring cost optimization, supplier performance, compliance, risk management, and sustainable procurement practices aligned with Rolls-Royce global procurement standards.
The role operates at both strategic and operational levels, partnering closely with regional business leaders, global procurement teams, finance, operations, legal, and functional stakeholders to deliver long-term procurement value and business continuity in a highly regulated and technically complex environment.
This is a leadership role requiring strong stakeholder management, regional procurement experience, supplier negotiation capability, and the ability to drive procurement transformation initiatives across a diverse APAC business landscape.
What You Will Be Doing
Regional Procurement Leadership
- Define and execute APAC indirect procurement strategies aligned with global procurement objectives and regional business priorities
- Lead procurement initiatives to achieve cost savings, operational efficiency, supplier optimization, and value creation across the region
- Drive procurement governance, compliance, and policy adherence across APAC operations
- Establish procurement KPIs, reporting frameworks, and performance dashboards to support business decision-making
- Support procurement transformation and continuous improvement initiatives across the organization
Strategic Sourcing & Category Management
- Manage indirect procurement categories including but not limited to:
- Facilities Management
- Professional Services
- Logistics & Freight
- IT & Digital Services
- MRO and operational support services
- Engineering and technical services
- Corporate and business support services
- Lead strategic sourcing activities including RFQ/RFP processes, supplier evaluations, negotiations, and contract award recommendations
- Develop category strategies that balance cost, quality, service, compliance, and risk mitigation
- Identify opportunities for supplier consolidation, process optimization, and commercial improvement
Supplier Management & Commercial Negotiation
- Develop and manage strategic supplier relationships across APAC
- Lead commercial negotiations involving pricing, service levels, contractual terms, and long-term supplier agreements
- Monitor supplier performance through structured governance and performance reviews
- Drive supplier accountability against KPIs including quality, delivery, responsiveness, and cost competitiveness
- Support supplier escalation management and resolution of commercial or operational issues
Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner closely with regional and global stakeholders including Operations, Engineering, Finance, Legal, HR, IT, and Facilities teams
- Act as the key procurement advisor to internal business functions across APAC
- Ensure procurement involvement in budgeting, demand planning, project execution, and operational initiatives
- Support business stakeholders in managing procurement risks, supplier selection, and contract compliance
- Collaborate with global procurement teams to ensure alignment with Rolls-Royce procurement standards and sourcing strategies
Contract & Risk Management
- Lead contract negotiation and contract lifecycle management activities
- Ensure supplier contracts comply with Rolls-Royce governance, legal, commercial, and compliance requirements
- Identify procurement and supply risks impacting regional operations and implement mitigation strategies
- Ensure business continuity planning for critical indirect procurement categories and suppliers
- Support audit activities and ensure adherence to procurement controls and ethical sourcing standards
Procurement Operations & Continuous Improvement
- Drive procurement process standardization and operational excellence initiatives
- Support digital procurement transformation and system optimization initiatives
- Improve procurement efficiency through automation, analytics, and process improvement methodologies
- Monitor procurement spending, savings performance, and budget compliance across APAC
- Promote continuous improvement of culture within the procurement function
Leadership & Capability Building
- Lead, mentor, and develop procurement team capability within the APAC region
- Foster a high-performance and collaborative procurement culture
- Coach stakeholders on procurement best practices, governance, and supplier management
- Support talent development and succession planning within the procurement organization
Position Requirements
- Degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related discipline
- 8-10 years experience in indirect procurement, strategic sourcing, or category management within industrial, engineering, manufacturing, energy, marine, or multinational environments
- Proven experience managing regional procurement operations across APAC markets
- Strong experience in:
- Strategic sourcing and category management
- Supplier negotiation and contract management
- Stakeholder management in matrix organizations
- Procurement governance and compliance
- Cost optimization and procurement transformation initiatives
- Experience working with indirect procurement categories such as:
- Facilities Management
- Logistics and Freight
- IT and Digital Services
- Professional Services
- Operational and engineering support services
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to negotiate complex supplier agreements and drive measurable procurement value
- Experience managing suppliers and procurement activities in technically complex and operationally critical environments
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at senior leadership level
- Experience working with ERP and procurement systems such as SAP or equivalent platforms
- Knowledge of procurement methodologies, supplier management frameworks, and procurement of best practices
- Experience working across multiple countries and cultures within APAC is highly advantageous
- Experience gained in industries such as power generation, energy systems, heavy equipment, industrial manufacturing, marine, or engineering services will be highly advantageous
- Candidates from highly operational and asset-intensive industries will be preferred
