Job Description

Job Summary
The jobholder (2-year contract) supports the Team Lead and HOD to lead the planning, implementation, and evaluation of employment and employability initiatives under the Future Ready Career Office team, with a focus on enabling the Malay/Muslim community to access opportunities in growth and evergreen sectors. He/She oversees programmes that equip jobseekers - including youth, women returning to work, and mid-career professionals - with relevant career skills, networks, and transition pathways.

The jobholder is expected to work from 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on weekdays and may be required to work over weekends and public holidays to support organisation events. Although the jobholder is largely expected to work in an indoor environment, occasional travel for meetings and programme visits is expected.

Key Responsibility Areas

Strategic and Partnership Management

a. Drive MENDAKI's FA4 Employment and Employability strategies by engaging and supporting jobseekers to move into sustainable, growth, and evergreen sectors.

b. Build and maintain strong partnerships with employers, industry associations, and national agencies to identify job opportunities and co-develop pathways for different jobseeker segments.

c. Represent the department in inter-agency or M3 committees and support M3 FA4 initiatives to strengthen collaboration and synergy across community partners.

d. Work closely with MENDAKI's Communications and Partnerships teams to align outreach, branding, and engagement efforts.

e. Explore new initiatives and funding opportunities to expand employability support and career development programmes for the community.

Programme Development and Management

a. Oversee the execution and evaluation of employability programmes for targeted segments of the community.

b. Generate and submit monthly and quarterly reports or ad-hoc audit reports for grants and funding, including reports on study loans, collections, disbursements, loan holders, and deferments.

c. Lead the collection and submission of organisation data as required by government agencies.

d. Lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of employability programmes under the Career Office, including workshops, clinics, and targeted initiatives for:

i. Youth jobseekers entering the workforce,

ii. Mid-career switchers exploring new opportunities,

iii. Jobs opportunities for Malay/Muslim jobseekers,

iv. Women returning to employment after career break

e. Deliver structured career advisory sessions tailored to various profiles of jobseekers to enhance employability and career resilience.

f. Facilitate mentoring, job shadowing, and traineeship opportunities in collaboration with Professional Networks and industry partners.

g. Conduct outreach and engagement activities within assigned districts to raise awareness and participation in career advancement initiatives.

h. Support participants through mid-career transition pathways, providing career guidance, job matching, and skills recommendations aligned with sectoral trends.

i. Track and evaluate programme outcomes, engagement metrics, and employability impact, providing reports and insights for continuous improvement.

Team Leadership and Management

a. Set goals and performance standards for direct reports.

b. Mentor direct reports and provide feedback to support their personal and professional development.

c. Supports team lead and HOD to execute functions, identify manpower needs and track budget utilization and accounting of processes and resources.

Requirements

a. Relevant degree from a recognised institution preferred.

b. 6-8 years of relevant experience in team management and process management.

c. Proven leadership experience in strategic planning, programme management, and partnership development.

d. Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and presentation skills.

e. Meticulous, resourceful, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced, multi-stakeholder environment.

f. Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage budgets, and deliver measurable outcomes.
