Job Description

The Senior Manager, Finance Operations will lead and drive the operational excellence, transformation and governance of Finance Operations across the organisation. The role is responsible for ensuring efficient and effective delivery across finance transactional activities, strengthening operational controls, driving process improvements and supporting business growth through scalable and resilient operating models. The incumbent will partner closely with key stakeholders to deliver operational excellence while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

Finance Operations Management

  • Lead the oversight and effective functioning of Finance Operations activities, including Accounts Payable (Disbursements), Accounts Receivable (Collections), Credit Governance and Credit Control, ensuring delivery standards in timeliness, accuracy, service quality and operational efficiency.
  • Drive performance management through established KPIs, service standards and operational metrics.
  • Establish and maintain clear operating policies, governance structures and escalation frameworks.

Transformation & Process Improvement

  • Lead and drive finance transformation initiatives from planning through implementation, ensuring successful delivery within scope and timelines.
  • Partner closely with PMO, Technology, Operations and Business teams to identify opportunities and implement solutions effectively.
  • Drive process standardisation, automation and digital initiatives to improve efficiency and operational effectiveness.
  • Support development of scalable operating capabilities to meet business growth and evolving requirements.
  • Monitor and ensure the successful implementation and value realisation of transformation initiatives.

Risk Management & Controls

  • Serve as an escalation point for operational risks, issues and control gaps, ensuring timely remediation and sustainable solutions.
  • Strengthen and maintain the Finance Operations control environment through risk identification, monitoring and mitigation activities.
  • Partner closely with Risk, Compliance and Internal Audit teams to manage audit observations and remediation plans.

Shared Services & Stakeholder Management

  • Provide functional oversight and governance across shared services finance activities, ensuring alignment with business requirements and service expectations.
  • Build strong partnerships with stakeholders and provide regular updates on operational performance, risks and improvement initiatives.

People Leadership

  • Lead, coach and develop a high-performing Finance Operations team.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Drive capability development and support teams through operational and transformational change.

Requirements

  • Degree in Accountancy, Finance or related disciplines; CPA or equivalent professional qualification preferred.
  • Minimum 10–15 years of relevant experience, with strong exposure to Finance Operations, Shared Services or large-scale transactional finance environments.
  • Proven experience leading finance transformation initiatives including process optimisation, standardisation, automation and digital enablement.
  • Strong understanding of operational controls, risk management and governance practices.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders across different levels.
  • Proven leadership experience managing teams and driving change initiatives.
