Job Description

Head of Controllership (Finance Controls & Reporting)

We seek a forward-thinking and seasoned finance professional who possesses a strong foundation in accounting and a proven track record leading financial reporting and ensuring the effectiveness of financial controls. This critical role will support the CFO by delivering robust financial information of the Group, driving operational and business partnering excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management & Reporting

  • Ensure the accountants timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including performance analysis for the Group and respective subsidiary.
  • Oversee the consolidation process and verify input for Group and subsidiary financial statements and annual reports.
  • Maintain regulatory compliance and audit readiness, including XBRL filings and control documentation.
  • Manage user setup for accounting operations (i.e. General Ledger, Billing, A/R, A/P, Costing, Inventory and Revenue Recognition) in the accounting system.
  • Drive the annual statutory audit process. Liaise with external auditors and shareholders for statutory audit and timely submission of required financial reports.
  • Maintain and update documentation of finances processes (including internal control procedures) and accounting policies.
  • Execute initiatives (e.g., streamline finance processes, system and operations) to promote a strong governance, controls and risk culture across the company and reduce and address any audit findings.

Tax Accounting & Compliance

  • Oversee and ensure tax compliance (including tax filings), reporting, and planning activities specific to the assigned entity/entities.
  • Stay abreast of IRAS and other tax regulatory updates, liaise with tax consultant, review accountants assessment of business impact, and draft audit responses..

Cash Flow & Treasury Management

  • Oversee cash flow forecasting and working capital planning by Treasury and Controllership team.
  • Manage banking relationships and liquidity-related initiatives.

Strategic Commercial Support

  • Support in evaluating capital investments, new contract structures and financial feasibility analyses.
  • Collaborate with FP&A team for budgeting, forecasting, scenario planning and performance tracking.

Finance Transformation Leadership

  • Lead and manage end-to-end finance transformation initiatives, including development of transformation roadmaps, project management, change management, and technology integration. Partner cross-functionally to deliver efficient, standardized processes and drive adoption of finance systems and automation tools.

Team Support & Development

  • Coach and support finance team members, nurturing capabilities in system use, data analytics and transformation adoption.

Others

  • To provide support for Corporate Secretariat and Corppass administration services
  • To serve as Secretary to Board of Directors
  • To support any ad-hoc assignment as and when required

Qualification and Experience

  • Education: Bachelors degree in Accountancy, Finance, or related field. A professional qualification (CPA / CA) is preferred.
  • Experience: 10 - 12 years in finance, with expertise in consolidation, statutory reporting, internal controls, and transformation initiatives. Big 4 experience would be an advantage.
  • Technical & Analytics Proficiency: Proficiency in MS Office, with advanced skills in Power BI or similar visualization tools. Hands-on experience with ERP systems like Dynamic 365, SAP (S/4HANA), Anaplan, Oracle, or similar, including reporting platforms.
  • Project Experience: Strong project management and stakeholder coordination skills, particularly in transformation workstreams are highly valued.
  • Soft Skills & Leadership: Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving and communication skills. Proven ability to influence senior leadership and manage cross-functional teams. Prior relevant experience in a similar position would be an advantage.
