- Develop custom gift proposals tailored to individual, corporate, and foundation donors.
- Support the execution of gift announcements, donor events, and stewardship activities.
- Assist in planning and rolling out giving campaigns aligned with SMU's brand and advancement goals.
- Manage and oversee editorial content for OA, including donor stories, newsletters, reports, and digital channels.
- Ensure consistency of messaging and alignment with the SMU brand across all communications.
- Collaborate closely with fundraisers and internal teams to strengthen donor relationships and drive engagement.
- Track and evaluate the impact of communications using data and key performance metrics.
- Any other assigned duties to support the advancement team's objectives.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Journalism, Communications, or a Social Science discipline.
- 8-10 years of relevant experience in communications, preferably in fundraising, advancement, or related sectors.
- Strong writing and editorial skills, with the ability to craft persuasive proposals and compelling content.
- Familiarity with digital marketing, social media, and SEO/SEM.
- Proven ability to conceptualise strategies, collaborate across teams, and manage stakeholder relationships.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including confidence in engaging senior leaders and external partners.
- Strong organisational abilities, with experience managing multiple projects under tight timelines.
- Creative and strategic thinker, proactive and adaptable, with problem-solving skills.
