We are seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to support growth across the Asia-Pacific region for a leading pharmaceutical company. This is a strategic role where you will partner with leadership and regional teams to ensure business operations are efficient, ethical, and compliant with local laws and regulations. You will play a key role in enabling access to innovative therapies in APAC, covering commercial, operational, compliance, and regulatory matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a strategic legal advisor to APAC affiliates, supporting compliant business growth.
- Provide pragmatic legal counsel across commercial, market access, supply chain, medical, compliance, and privacy matters.
- Support product launches and day-to-day business operations in partnership with cross-functional teams.
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial and operational agreements.
- Advise on legal entity governance, licensing, and regulatory requirements across APAC (including Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and China Mainland).
- Ensure alignment with healthcare compliance and global standards when engaging with HCPs, patient organizations, and healthcare entities.
- Contribute to regional and global legal initiatives, process optimization, and knowledge sharing.
- Collaborate with Compliance teams to maintain a strong integrated legal & compliance framework.
Requirements
- Law degree and qualification to practice in at least one key APAC jurisdiction.
- 10+ years of legal experience in life sciences (in-house or top-tier law firm).
- Strong understanding of APAC laws and regulations, particularly Singapore, South Korea, and Australia.
- Experience drafting third-party agreements (distribution, pharmacovigilance, intercompany, etc.).
- Knowledge of healthcare compliance and anti-bribery/anti-corruption frameworks.
- Fluency in English and Chinese (written and spoken); additional APAC languages are a plus.
