Job Description

A leading global industrial and energy services group is seeking a senior in-house legal professional to join its legal function in Singapore. The role partners closely with the General Counsel to provide legal oversight across commercial operations, contracts, compliance, disputes, and strategic initiatives spanning multiple jurisdictions.

This is a broad, hands-on role suited for a commercially savvy lawyer with strong experience in complex operational environments such as construction, EPC, offshore, marine, or renewables.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the General Counsel in implementing and maintaining group-wide legal frameworks, policies, and governance standards
  • Provide legal oversight for day-to-day operations, including commercial and procurement contracts
  • Advise on M&A, joint ventures, restructuring, and new business initiatives
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial, procurement, and project-related agreements
  • Develop and maintain contract templates, term sheets, and internal legal processes
  • Manage and supervise external counsel on transactions, disputes, and regulatory matters
  • Support and manage litigation, dispute resolution, and regulatory investigations, including reporting to senior management
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, licensing, and corporate governance requirements across jurisdictions
  • Provide legal advice on matters relating to construction, EPC, offshore, marine, renewables, and energy-related regulations

Requirements

  • 10+ years PQE with training from a reputable law firm and/or in-house legal team
  • Strong experience in commercial contracts and dispute management
  • Background in construction law, EPC, energy, offshore/marine, or infrastructure-related sectors highly advantageous
  • Sound understanding of cross-border and regional legal and regulatory issues
  • Commercial, pragmatic, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, operationally intensive environment
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
