About the Role
In this role, you will be at the forefront of engaging both crypto-forward institutions and traditional finance players entering the digital asset space. You will be responsible for developing deep customer relationships and go to market strategies that align with Coinbase's ambitious growth objectives across APAC. A startup mindset will be instrumental in capturing new market opportunities, while experience in crypto and institutional engagements will position you as a trusted advisor to our clients.
What you'll be doing (ie. job duties):
- Market Coinbase's full suite of institutional products including Coinbase Prime, Coinbase Exchange, Coinbase International Exchange, and Coinbase Derivatives Exchange-to institutional clients across the APAC region.
- Provide comprehensive client coverage, including sales, account management, and relationship management for APAC-based and global clients.
- Assist senior team members with lead generation, qualification, and pursuit, while also responding to inbound client opportunities and helping expand our client base in the region.
- Take an active role in client-facing marketing initiatives across APAC, including roadshows, conferences, virtual meetings, and the planning and hosting of Coinbase Owned and Operated client events.
- Contribute to the development and execution of global and APAC-specific go-to-market strategies, tailoring approaches to fit local market dynamics, client segments, and regulatory frameworks.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with teammates across product, legal, operations, and marketing to help scale the business and optimize sales processes.
- Act as a voice for APAC clients internally by sharing insights, feedback, and market intelligence to inform product development and enhance our institutional offering.
What we look for in you (ie. job requirements):
- 5-7+ years of relevant experience, ideally in institutional sales, trading, or business development at a leading investment bank, prime brokerage, crypto exchange, or crypto-native firm
- Proven ability to independently source, manage, and close high-profile institutional relationships, with a preference for those already active or exploring activity in crypto (trading, custody, staking, etc.)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex products and strategies to clients and internal stakeholders
- Fluency in English (spoken and written) and Mandarin (spoken and written/simplified Chinese) is essential, given the client base and regional focus
- Deep understanding of financial markets and digital asset infrastructure, with a client-centric approach to crafting solutions
- High energy, strong self-motivation, and a willingness to wear multiple hats in a lean and rapidly evolving team
- Strategic thinker with excellent commercial instincts and a hands-on approach to problem solving
- Demonstrated track record of consistent performance and results
- Willingness to travel within the APAC region up to 30% of the time
- A genuine curiosity about crypto and excitement for helping institutions navigate this emerging asset class
Nice to haves:
- Business-level fluency in other Asian languages such as Cantonese, Japanese or Korean to communicate with local clients
- Existing relationships with HNWI or UHNWI in the region
