DORS at Design Orchard, is a leading multi-label retail destination, showcasing the nation's best designers and brands across fashion, lifestyle, art and design. DORS houses over 80 brands in these categories, making it Singapore's largest physical one-stop shopping destination for local labels. With a newly refresh concept store in Orchard Road and an expanding ecommerce store, DORS connects locals, tourists and corporates to unique collections, products and experiences.

DORS is managed by Singapore Fashion Council (SFC), the official association for the fashion industry in Singapore. Our mission at SFC is quite simple: To create A Vibrant Asian Hub for Responsible* Fashion.

Career Opportunity / Role Overview:

The Senior Executive, Visual Merchandising & Retail Design plays a key role in shaping the in-store and experiential journey at DORS. This role is both creative and strategic, balancing design innovation with commercial objectives. The incumbent will lead the conceptualization, execution, and maintenance of store displays, layouts, and retail environments that elevate brand storytelling, drive sales, and strengthen DORS positioning as Singapore's most exciting design showcase.

Key Responsibilities:

Visual Merchandising

  • Plan and execute compelling in-store displays, floor layouts, and windows to maximize product visibility and customer engagement.
  • Partner with brand partners to co-create VM displays, optimize space allocation, and ensure storytelling aligns with commercial objectives.
  • Work closely with Store Operations to ensure physical displays and digital installations are cohesive, practical, and customer-centric.
  • Maintain a consistent brand identity across all visual merchandising and design elements.

Retail Design

  • Conceptualize and execute campaign-driven retail activations on the shop floor from thematic installations and set-like displays to immersive storytelling zones.
  • Treat the retail floor as a canvas for creativity, transforming spaces to reflect seasonal campaigns, cultural moments, and brand collaborations.
  • Design and work with vendors to produce props, backdrops, and experiential set pieces that enhance product storytelling and create memorable customer touchpoints.
  • Collaborate with brand partners to integrate their narratives into DORS larger creative vision while ensuring cohesive execution across the store.
  • Work with Retail, Marketing, and Merchandising teams to ensure activations amplify both brand discovery and sales impact.
  • Continuously refresh retail displays to maintain novelty, surprise, and engagement for repeat visitors.

Data-Driven Personalization & Optimization

  • Leverage in-store analytics, customer behaviour data, and feedback to personalize content and product recommendations.
  • Monitor key performance metrics (e.g., dwell time, engagement, conversion uplift) to refine installations and experiences.
  • Partner with analytics and retail teams to translate insights into actionable VM and digital design improvements.

Project Management

  • Lead the rollout of VM and digital experiences across multiple store formats and pop-ups.
  • Coordinate cross-functionally with Retail, Ecommerce, Marketing, Merchandising, and external vendors to ensure timely execution.
  • Manage budgets, resources, and timelines to deliver high-quality visual and digital experiences on schedule.
  • Document processes and create scalable playbooks for future rollouts.

Trend Research & Innovation

  • Stay ahead of global retail, fashion, and design innovation trends, with a focus on experiential retail and phygital engagement.
  • Benchmark against best-in-class retail concepts globally and adapt them for DORS.

Pre-requisites:

  • Bachelor's degree in Design, Marketing, Retail Management, or related field.
  • 35 years of experience in retail design, digital experience, or visual merchandising.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating creative design and digital experience execution.
  • Experience with UX/UI tools, data analytics platforms, and digital retail technologies.
  • Excellent interpersonal and project management skills.
  • Prior experience in fashion, lifestyle, or tech-driven retail brands is a strong advantage.
  • Familiarity with emerging retail tech trends (AR/VR, RFID, AI-based personalization).
  • Exposure to omnichannel retail strategies.
