The School of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology, CCEB (Undergraduate) Student Life Office is seeking a proactive and committed individual with a can-do attitude to join the team in supporting initiatives that enrich the student experience and strengthen engagement within the CCEB community, including students, faculty and alumni.
In this role, you will play a key part in shaping a vibrant student experience and strengthening lifelong connections between CCEB and its alumni community. You will work closely with faculty, students, alumni and university partners to develop meaningful engagement initiatives that enhance the student journey and build a strong CCEB network.
Key Responsibilities:
Student Engagement
Develop and implement initiatives that foster a vibrant and inclusive student community within CCEB.
Collaborate with the CCEB Club (Undergraduate) and student interest groups to conceptualise and organise initiatives that bring together faculty, prospective students, current students and alumni, fostering a strong and connected CCEB community.
Organise and manage student life programmes, events and activities that encourage participation, leadership and collaboration.
Support students through initiatives such as mentoring programmes, peer support activities and engagement platforms.
Work with stakeholders to enhance students holistic development and career readiness through workshops, networking opportunities and industry engagement.
Alumni Engagement
Build and maintain strong relationships with CCEB alumni across different cohorts and professional levels and identify key alumni for strategic engagement.
Conceptualise and organise alumni engagement initiatives such as networking events, industry talks, mentorship programmes and reunions under the guidance of faculty.
Engage distinguished alumni to return to campus as speakers, mentors or industry partners, creating opportunities for internships, career exposure and collaboration.
Support the growth of an active alumni community that contributes to the CCEB's development and student success.
Stakeholder Engagement & Communications
Work closely with faculty, the Undergraduate and Graduate Office, the College of Science, the College of Engineering and the Office of Alumni Engagement (OAE) to align and implement engagement initiatives.
Support alumni communications and outreach efforts to keep alumni connected with CCEB and informed about key developments and opportunities.
Administrative & Operational Support
Provide administrative support to the Alumni Association, including data submission, claims processing, procurement and financial matters related to alumni events and activities.
Assist with logistical coordination and operational planning to ensure the smooth delivery of engagement programmes.
Other duties
Provide pastoral care and support to students where appropriate and refer students to relevant university support services when necessary.
Provide secretariat support where required.
Any other duties or projects assigned by the Reporting Officer.
Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree from a recognised university, with at least 2-3 years of relevant working experience, preferably in higher education.
Experience in programme management, student engagement, alumni relations, or event management.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with content creation tools will be an advantage.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
Resourceful, proactive and able to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team.
Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple initiatives simultaneously.
Flexible and adaptable in a dynamic education environment, with a positive attitude toward new challenges.
