Senior Executive, Remittance Operations

Role Summary:

Our client is a well-established regional banking group with a strong presence across Asia, providing a comprehensive range of financial solutions to individuals and businesses.

They are seeking a meticulous and experienced Senior Executive, Remittance Operations to manage day-to-day remittance and payment processing. The successful candidate will ensure transactions are completed accurately, promptly and in accordance with internal procedures and regulatory requirements. The role will also support payment-system projects, testing activities and post-implementation operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process inward and outward remittance transactions, including SWIFT and local payments, accurately and promptly.
• Verify payment instructions, account details and supporting documents.
• Perform dual-control checks and daily transaction reconciliations.
• Reconcile positions with agent banks and internal general ledger accounts.
• Ensure compliance with internal procedures, sanctions-screening requirements and relevant regulations.
• Liaise with internal teams, counterparties and stakeholders to resolve discrepancies.
• Monitor pending transactions and prepare daily or weekly operational reports.
• Identify and escalate unusual transactions or potential operational risks.
• Support payment-system projects involving Payment Hub, v8 and SAA systems.
• Conduct SIT, UAT, regression and industry testing for end-to-end remittance processes.
• Track and retest system defects in collaboration with IT teams and vendors.
• Support post-go-live hypercare, system stabilisation and operational handovers.

The ideal candidate should be/have:

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Banking and Finance, Accountancy, Business Administration or a related discipline.
• 3 to 5 years of relevant experience within a bank or financial institution.
• Strong working knowledge of SWIFT, MEPS, GIRO and FAST payment message types.
• Familiarity with remittance operations, transaction reconciliation and regulatory controls.
• Experience in payment-system testing or implementation projects will be an advantage.
• Meticulous and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and tight timelines.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
