Position: Senior Procurement Executive / Assistant Procurement Manager
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced procurement professional to drive strategic sourcing, supplier management, and cost optimization within our manufacturing operations. This role requires a proactive, detail-oriented individual capable of managing end-to-end procurement activities while ensuring supply reliability and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead supplier negotiations and develop strategic partnerships to secure competitive pricing and favorable terms.
- Source and evaluate raw materials and manufacturing services recommend alternatives based on quality, specifications, and cost-effectiveness.
- Manage purchase orders (POs) from creation to fulfillment, ensuring timely delivery and accurate documentation.
- Coordinate with Quality Assurance to confirm incoming materials meet all standards and contractual requirements.
- Collaborate with Planning to forecast material needs, prevent stockouts, and prioritize critical orders.
- Track supplier performance, monitor delivery schedules, and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Work closely with Warehouse and Production teams to maintain smooth supply chain operations.
- Maintain supplier databases, contracts, and pricing information, ensuring all records are current.
- Optimize inventory levels, reduce slow-moving stock, and prevent material obsolescence.
- Drive cost-saving initiatives through alternative sourcing, process improvements, and supplier collaboration.
- Negotiate logistics and freight arrangements to ensure timely and cost-efficient delivery.
- Prepare regular procurement reports, analyses, and insights for management review.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the procurement function.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, or a related discipline.
- Relevant certifications in Procurement, Purchasing, or Negotiation are a plus.
- At least 5 years of procurement experience in a manufacturing environment with proven negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Proficiency with ERP/MRP/SAP systems and Microsoft Office.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to influence stakeholders.
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to work both independently and in a collaborative team environment.
