The Institution of Engineers, Singapore (IES) has been appointed by Enterprise Singapore, the national standards body, as the Standards Development Organisation (SDO) to provide secretariat support for the Building and Construction Standards Committee and Transportation Standards Committee.
As part of IES-SDO, you will play a key role in developing, promoting, and driving the adoption of Technical References (TR) and Singapore Standards (SS) that support Singapore's land transport ecosystem − spanning railway systems, autonomous and electric vehicles, intelligent transport systems, and sustainable mobility solutions.
We work closely with government agencies, institutes of higher learning, professional bodies, and industry partners to establish industry benchmarks that enhance the safety, reliability, and sustainability of transportation in Singapore. What You'll Do
As a member of the Singapore Standardisation Programme, you will:
. Lead and manage projects - Oversee the end-to-end development of industry standards, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality outcomes.
. Engage stakeholders - Work closely with government agencies, industry experts, and academia to identify industry needs and develop relevant standards.
. Provide secretariat support - Prepare agendas, document meeting minutes, compile reports, and format technical standards drafts.
. Organise industry events - Plan and manage seminars, focus groups discussions, and engagement sessions to drive awareness and adoption of standards.
. Collect and analyse industry insights - Gather feedback and market intelligence to support ongoing standards development initiatives.
What We're Looking For
. Education: Minimum Diploma in Engineering or relevant disciplines (Degree is a plus).
. Experience: At least 3 years of relevant work experience in the transportation sector. Experience working with the public sector is a plus, but most importantly, a strong passion for quality and industry standards.
. Project & Event management: Experience in project coordination and event organisation.
