Overview
Reporting to the Assistant Director (Finance), this position is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of Accounts Receivable transactions. This role ensures proper billing, collection, reconciliation, and compliance with statutory, regulatory, and organisational requirements. The role requires close collaboration with both internal teams and external stakeholders to support revenue integrity, audit readiness, and sound financial governance in a charity environment.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Receivable
- Manage the full spectrum of Accounts Receivable functions, including accurate and timely billing, collections and account reconciliations.
- Handle invoice related matters, ensuring compliance with local tax and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor customer accounts and AR ageing, follow up on overdue balances, and escalate risks or issues where necessary.
- Liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders (where required) to resolve billing discrepancies, ensure proper documentation, and support timely collections.
- Maintain proper AR records and documentation to support audit and governance requirements.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities, including AR schedules and reconciliations.
- Any other tasks assigned by the Superior.
Others
- Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules, supporting documents, and responding to audit queries.
- Participate in finance transformation initiatives to streamline AR processes and improve efficiency.
- Perform other finance-related duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- ACCA or Diploma/Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- At least 1 to 3 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within the charity, non-profit or public sector.
- Hands-on experience with accounting/ERP systems (e.g. SAP), will be advantageous.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables and basic data analysis.
- Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills; meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple deadlines, and deliver accurate outputs.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication and interpersonal skills to co-create solutions.
