  • Assist Managers to Manage Alumni Chapters, Groups and Communities:
    • Engage alumni through building and deepening relationships with local and overseas alumni groups (i.e. overseas chapters, local school alumni chapters, programme-based and affinity-based alumni groups).
    • Provide direction and guidance to alumni groups and chapters on their initiatives, budget, succession plans and other alumni matters.
    • Encourage alumni-driven initiatives and activities.
  • Volunteer Management:
    • Manage alumni volunteers, Class Alumni Leaders and leaders of local and overseas alumni groups, and provide necessary support aligned with OAR's larger volunteer engagement strategy.
    • Manage the alumni and alumni groups database and update contacts and details of all volunteers as necessary.
    • Conduct research on alumni by exploring social media and other platforms to analyse and understand their professional profiles.
    • Work as a team member in OAR to support department-wide events for volunteers.
  • Event Management and Programme Support:
    • Conceptualise, plan and execute OAR events as required.
    • Provide administrative and coordination support for alumni engagement initiatives, including President's Table, Industry AmpUP and Wellness BalanceUP.
    • Assist with research, scheduling, preparation of briefing materials, event logistics and post-event follow-up to ensure seamless execution.
    • Measure the success of events and programmes through the collection of and analysis of data, and prepare reports and post-publicity social media posts after the event.
    • Contribute as an active team member within OAR to support cluster, department and university-wide events.
  • Partnership Development and Liaison between OAR and student groups:
    • Collaborate with SOCIs and student groups as strategic partners to engage alumni and manage alumni activities, events and programmes.
    • Advise and handle requests from four Schools - SOA (ASoc, Tax Society etc), SCIS (Ellipsis), YPHSL (The Bar, POLARIS) and SOSS (SOSociety) Student Groups.
    • Identify and connect alumni with these student groups.
    • Support their events as OAR representative.
  • Manage SMU ALCove:
    • As SMU ALCove's second IC, ensure that the venue is well maintained and conducive as an alumni lounge as well as a general-purpose event space.
    • Assist in OAR's events held at SMU ALCove.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with at least 2 years of work experience, preferably in the higher education sector and relationship management. Fresh graduates with good CCA records will be considered.
  • Able to work under tight deadlines, thrive in a fast-paced environment and maintain a high level of motivation and energy.
  • Proven track record in the higher education sector for planning, executing and improving community interaction and building. Knowledge of alumni relations will be an advantage.
  • Detail-oriented with strong project management, good administration and organisational skills.
  • Event-organising and venue operations experience would be a plus.
  • Demonstrate professionalism in conduct, speech and lead by example.
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation and communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Demonstrate strategic and critical thinking skills.
  • Mature and able to build and maintain relationships with alumni, industry partners and stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of and adept at using technology, social media and database tools.
  • Able to work independently under tight deadlines and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Possess high energy levels, an innovative mindset, and a positive outlook.
  • A dynamic team player and effectively bilingual.
