We are seeking an experienced Senior English Teacher / English Coordinator for our Cambridge Curriculum. This role requires expertise in both special education teaching strategies and curriculum coordination, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning for students with diverse needs while maintaining curriculum integrity and excellence across the English department.
Teaching & Learning
- Deliver engaging and differentiated English lessons tailored to the needs of students with diverse learning abilities.
- Develop Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with therapists, parents, and the school team.
- Adapt Cambridge English curriculum content to meet the unique needs of learners.
- Implement evidence-based teaching strategies that foster literacy, comprehension, and critical thinking.
- Use assessment data to track student progress and adjust teaching accordingly.
English Coordinator (Cambridge Curriculum)
- Lead the planning, development, and implementation of the Cambridge English curriculum across grade levels.
- Provide mentorship, coaching, and support to English teachers.
- Ensure teaching practices align with Cambridge standards and school values.
- Oversee assessment design, moderation, and reporting in line with Cambridge guidelines.
- Organize departmental meetings, training, and curriculum reviews.
- Liaise with Cambridge representatives and ensure readiness for inspections and curriculum updates.
Collaboration & School Culture
- Work closely with school leadership, therapists, and support staff to create an inclusive learning environment.
- Support professional development workshops related to English teaching and special education.
- Engage with parents regularly to communicate student progress and provide guidance for home support.
- Contribute to whole-school events, literacy weeks, and student enrichment activities.
Requirements
- Master's or Bachelor degree in Education / Special Education / English Language / English Literature (or related field).
- Minimum 5 years teaching experience, with at least 2 years in a special education setting.
- Strong knowledge of Cambridge Curriculum (Primary & Secondary levels).
- Proven experience in curriculum coordination or subject leadership.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Passionate about inclusive education and differentiated teaching.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and external stakeholders.
